Audition requirements for composition
The requirements for instrumental and electroacoustic composition are the same.
Undergraduate and graduate studies
- Entrance exams take the form of an interview.
- Applicants are invited to present their personal work, parts, sketches, audio recordings (a composition portfolio and list of works) and to demonstrate their musical and creative motivation.
- Applicants are evaluated in terms of the level for which they are applying (the Conservatoire Supérieur I level corresponds to undergraduate studies and Supérieur II level corresponds to graduate studies).
- The admissions committee may require applicants to pass a written test (counterpoint, harmony, fugue) or to sketch a brief composition.
- Any applicant arriving at their interview without a portfolio or list of works will be evaluated based on their musical training and their motivation for composition.
