Bienvenue au Conservatoire !
Wilfrid Pelletier founded the Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec more than 60 years ago. The training offered by our Institution faithfully adheres to the noble tradition of the master-student relationship in the spirit of leading European conservatories.
Our students gain recognition, go on tours and give performances both in Québec and around the world. They join and leave their mark on the leading ensembles and major theatre houses. The achievements of our students are a source of great pride and prompt us to pursue our educational philosophy.
It was in 1942 that Québec took a decisive step to affirm its culture by creating the Conservatoire. The commitment and the vision of all those who work and teach at the Conservatoire perpetuate its mission : offering artistic training founded on excellence, supporting organizations dedicated to training in music and dramatic arts, and contributing to the cultural life of Québec.
This year marks an exciting time in the life of our Institution. Following the amendments made to its enabling Act by the National Assembly, the Conservatoire has become a public corporation with its own board of directors. This new autonomy will undoubtedly breathe new life into the Conservatoire as it continues its tradition of excellence in music and dramatic arts.
